Over the last few weeks, after welcoming a new baby boy into our family, my life has been quite chaotic. I'm overwhelmed with so much love, but also with so many responsibilities. Sometimes I find myself stressed and discouraged, and ready to give up. Turning to the bible always seems to give me a warm feeling in my heart, and it takes away some of my overwhelming frustration. These are a few verses that stand out to me, and seem so comforting and encouraging.
"Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.
One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling."
even then I will be confident.
One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and seek him in his temple.
For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling."
-Psalm 27:3-5-
"May the God who gives endurance
and encouragement
and encouragement
give you the same attitude of mind
toward each other that Jesus Christ had."
-Romans 15:5-
"And let us consider how
we may spur one another on
we may spur one another on
toward love and good deeds,
not giving up meeting together, as some
are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one
another - and all the more
another - and all the more
as you see the day approaching."
-Hebrews 10:24-25-
"The humble will see their
God at work and be glad.
God at work and be glad.
Let all who see their God's help
be encouraged."
-Psalm 69:32-
"We do not lose heart,
but though our outer
but though our outer
man is decaying, yet our
inner man is being renewed day by day.
inner man is being renewed day by day.
For momentary, light affliction
is produced for us an
eternal weight of glory
is produced for us an
eternal weight of glory
far beyond all comparison."
-2 Corinthians 4:16-17-
